The traditional form for “欧” is”歐”; this character can be analyzed as two parts. On the left is “區”, meaning collect or district. On the right is “欠”, meaning to owe. The”歐”character in modern Mandarin is most often used as a surname, or to express Europe or European. In most cases, it is used with imported or Western products. Some brands include: Casio (卡西欧), OMRON (欧姆龙), L’Oreal (欧莱雅).

“尚” can be dissected into “八” , meaning eight, and “向”, meaning direction. In literature, it is used to express something which happened long ago. It has evolved in modern times to mean revere and focus, and subsequently further evolved to express trends and habits. This character is not often used in brand names.
