Shanghai Watch – historical Chinese watch brand - is launching 5 new models to get its prestige back and brand itself to the younger generation in China and abroad.
Formerly a high stature brand worn by Chinese leader such as Mao Ze Dong, Deng Xiao Ping and Zhou En Lai, Shanghai Watch had felt into oblivion…till now!
Designers from Jellymon and W+K Shanghai have agreed to cooperate to resuscitate the largely forgotten Shanghai Watch brand to launch some nice newly designed product. The result? 5 new watches embedded with Chinese flavor but targeted to the young street culture generation.
The “Metallic Silver and Gold” watches design capitalize on Shanghai Watch brand heritage to offer consumers traditional designs reinterpreted in a modern key. The entire collection should be available soon at select retailers like Colette in Paris, Kidrobot in New York and The Source in Shanghai.
Lin Lin, Creative Director of Jellymon, says: “We wanted to re-introduce and rejuvenate Chinese heritage brands, so the younger generation in China and aboard will understand and appreciate them again… We feel proud to be part of a Chinese historical brand’s story.”
